MMAP provides free access to unbiased information about health benefits and options, along with counseling for beneficiaries. MMAP is an excellent resource to help you pick which health plan may be right for you and to explain benefits offered by Medicaid and Medicare. MMAP counselors can also help determine whether your doctor is participating in your MHL health plan or whether your prescription is covered by your plan. Michigan's State Long Term Care Ombudsman advocates for residents who live in nursing homes, homes for the aged, and adult foster care facilities. The State Long Term Care Ombudsman works with residents on quality of care, quality of life, and residents' rights issues. Although the State Long Term Care Ombudsman program is a different program from the MI Health Link Ombudsman program, we work closely together and coordinate our services.
